Girls Weekend

Okay girls it is time to get serious and get something booked for girls weekend. First I wanted to give some facts before we make a final decision on where to book. Now I don't know where most of you are coming from, or where you are dropping kids off, but I know that Idaho is the winner. However I just wanted everyone to think about it before we decide. Now if you are coming from Utah, whether you are flying into or dropping kids of at then know it is at least a two to three hour drive to where I am. We had discussed having it in Island Park at a cabin but that is a five hour drive from SLC. I am not trying to talk anyone out of Idaho because I would love it, but those are the facts. So what I am telling you now is to think about where you are coming from and what you want to do. I am going to need a head count pretty soon so that I can do some research as to where we will go for sure. I have been looking into some places in SLC or Island Park, or if anyone has any suggestions of even somewhere in the middle I am game. I just didn't want to make any decisions that might make it hard on too many people. Let me know what you think and I will get to booking. So everyone post and let me know specifically if you are coming and where you were planning to fly into. Even if you are thinking about coming let me know so that I can know how big I am looking for.

Thanks, can't wait to see everyone.

I am for sure coming. I would be flying into SLC and my kids will be going to Adam's parents in Gunnison 2 hours south of SLC. I think his parents still have an extra car and I might be able to pick people up on my way north to SLC or idaho. Or maybe we could all go in on a rental car, if they did sell the taurus.. i am not sure.

If we did something in SLC that would be fine I guess it would be closer. I don't know SL that well to suggest places to stay.. but I guess there would be more extra curricular stuff to go to (shopping movies etc) than at a cabin... I just remember hearing about a cabin in one of you stayed in and how inexpensive and nice it was etc... But maybe there are a lot of things to do at the cabin that i am not aware of...

So anyway I am coming and flying into SLC and would be happy to carpool with anyone to our destination.
Thanks Amy :) hope i answered all your questions.

I think no matter where we are we could come up with fun stuff to do. though I think a shorter drive from slc would be best if the majority of girls are flying into slc. game for anything tnough.

I know you already know this, but I will fo sho be there! ;0)

My family is in UT, so that would be better for me I guess. However, it wouldn't keep me from coming if it was in ID- not even CLOSE!! ;0)

Also, I kind of like the idea of a more "metro" getaway... like that involves movies and pedicures and food we don't have to cook... but that's just me ;)

I am really hoping to come. I am just trying to get all the dates of things I have to do figured out along with moving, Brett's deployment, and the baby. I know I will be in Idaho and Utah the last two weeks of June, so I am hoping it will be close enough that I can just stay. As far as Idaho or Utah it now sounds like Utah might be a better option for everyone. Although I am good with which either. I hope it works to see you all. I had SOOOO much fun last year. Love ya all

I am planning on coming but I will probably be driving because otherwise I would have to pay for tickets for all my kids too. Maybe I'll be able to find some super cheap tickets. So, I am coming from North Dakota...Idaho is closer (11 hours)but whatever...I'll do anything to get out of here for a bit.

i'm still not positive i can come or not, since i'm not sure i want to bring a one month old baby... but it was SO fun and rejuvinating last year, i hate to miss it, especially since i probably won't be able to come next year. anyway, i was one of the 2 people who voted for utah, just because it seems like most people will fly into SLC and/or leave their kids there with family, and driving another 5 hrs didn't sound great to me (again, thinking with my one month old in tow...) What about a compromise and get a condo in park city or heber area or something? that way we could get a cabin experience and feel like we're "away" but have quick easy access to fun, urban things too. just an idea i thought i'd throw out there.

I won't be attending unless it happens to be at the same time as my brother's wedding. He hasn't picked a date but I am guessing I can't be that lucky. Anyway I hope you all have tons of fun. Keep this going so that I will be able to make it one of these years.

Hey guys do you think the date is set at least so we can buy tickets.... they are really cheap right now! Is it the 3rd weekend in July? that's what I had down but I can't remember for sure

I'm actually not quite sure if the date is solid yet... We were either going to do the second or the third weekend in July. I know the second weekend works better for Kami, but she might not be able to come anyway, being that pregnant...

Anyhow, I think we'd better solidify the date so you guys can go ahead and at least make travel plans and arrangements for the kiddos. I'll call Amy tonight :)

I have to come in to SLC no matter what, probably with kids in tow. My mother in law might know of some people with cabins in Park City that we could rent. I will ask her if she knows of anything there in Utah. My Sister in law also has a time share thing that may have something in Utah. She sold me some of her timeshare credits for a resort there at Disneyland so I will also ask her if there are any resorts there in Utah. Anyway, maybe we can get some options there if we decide to go with Utah.
